It is named after the mighty river Rio Cocle Cocle North and South, through their territories and attributes this name to Cocle cacique who dominated the central plain.
This province keeps on its territory archaeological finds that existed centuries of pre-history in Cocle. The Province is Agro-industrial and large flow in tourism.
