Descripción de Propiedad

QUiROS ISLAND, A PANAMANIAN PEARL, 1.4 HECTARES (3.5 acres).

✔ABOUT THE ISLAND

In the Perlas Archipelago, 35 nautical miles south of Panama City, is an island paradise. “Isla Quiros” is very centrally located for easy and quick access to many of the region’s fishing and resort hot spots. It is sheltered in the lee of the large islands of “Viveros” and “Isla del Rey”. The Perlas Archipelago further extends southward for another forty miles, with some 25 islands and many islets, with attractive beaches, world class fishing, and a good sense of privacy.

✔LOCATION:

8 –26’N Lat, 078 –59’W Long

✔PHYSICAL DESCRIPTION:

The Island comprises an area of 1.4 hectares (about 3 and one-half acres) and is relatively flat, with productive soil surrounded by huge amounts of dark volcanic rock (ideal for construction of jetties and rock walls for homes and other necessary buildings). The island is entirely covered with trees, with the majority on the outer fringes being coconut palms.

Other trees include native trees of significant girth (perhaps half a meter in diameter) and height (some up to fifteen meters). There are also many fruit trees such as lime, mango, orange, and avocado.

✔1.4 (3.5 acres)

By leaving only the shade trees, fruit trees, and those coconut palms desired, and with a bit of low-cost landscaping, the island’s topography will allow a steady breeze from any direction. The evidence of the large amount of fruit and coconut trees signifies there is a regular source of ground water, as, even in the “dry season”, “Isla Quiros” maintains its stunning green appearance.

The land has enough room available for some very large private homes or a boutique hotel, and/or several small private villas or luxury cabanas, with all the amenities of a tropical lodge or spa resort.

The shores are rocky with exquisite sandy beach areas at lowering tides and there is good anchorage, in the lee of the island and the extensive (over 120 meters) sand bar, which can be seen in the photos. With the fall of the tide, the sand bar becomes a spectacular place, ideal for long walks, easy shallow swims, or simply lounging on the white sand.

✔NEIGHBORING AREAS:

The major development (to the North) at “Isla Viveros” is within sight, and only a five minute boat ride away. This project has a hotel, a marina, golf course, and residential home units, as well as a commercial airstrip (which is already in use). The next closest development (to the West) is “Pedro Gonzales» only about fifteen minutes away. Their luxury homes are completely private, similarly with their own airstrip and marina.

Only ten minutes away, through the small canal separating “Viveros” from “Isla del Rey”, one arrives at the administrative headquarters of the Archipelago, the municipal center town of “San Miguel”, where there are basic services (telephone, light, water, police) and an airstrip serviced by Air Panama.

✔FAUNA

Nestled in the heart of the Perlas Basin, our island is not just a sanctuary but a canvas painted with diverse fauna. Picture yourself in the tranquility of these waters, where whales and their playful calves frolic close by, creating an enchanting spectacle.

Immerse yourself in the underwater wonders; the gentle dance of conch and oysters beneath the surface. Our unique location in the Perlas Basin ensures that these waters are a haven for marine life, making it an ideal spot for an oyster and pearl farm.

✔DOCUMENTATION

Orig Title: February 5, 1937 (municipal de distrito de Balboa vende al señor Juan Jacobo Villaverde Alvarado)

Sold to John W. Carlson: June 2, 1976

✔TRANSPORTATION

By boat from Panama City would be 42 miles, or about an hour and a half. By plane, you would fly out of Albrook Marcos Gelabert land either on Contadora Island, or Viveros Island, or Pedro Gonzales Island, or San Miguel en Isla del Rey. All are

very close by. The furthest of these airstrips would be Contadora 12 miles away or about 20 min boat ride. The island is literally centrally located right in the middle of the Perlas. A perfect location with pretty much equal distance access to all points of interest very quickly.
